About HURDU

The world’s first unified Roman standard for Urdu and Hindi.

The Movement

For centuries, millions of people across South Asia have spoken a language that connects hearts, cultures, and ideas — yet it has been divided by scripts. In India, it is written in Devanagari and called Hindi. In Pakistan, it is written in Nastaliq and called Urdu.

Today, over **800 million people** speak this shared language. And online, a new reality has emerged — people are increasingly typing it in **Roman script** (English letters).

Our Problem

Currently, there is no global standard. No Oxford-level dictionary. No unified system for spelling, meaning, pronunciation, and usage. This creates confusion for students, AI systems, businesses, and millions of users who write differently every day.

Our Solution

HURDU.org solves this. It is the world’s first AI-ready, standardized Roman Urdu-Hindi dictionary, designed for humans and machines alike. HURDU ensures that Urdu-Hindi speakers are not invisible in the AI era.
